Sources: Suns forwards Marquese Chriss, Jared Dudley fined for altercation in loss to Jazz

The NBA has fined Phoenix Suns forwards Marquese Chriss and Jared Dudley $25,000 each for their roles in an on-court incident Thursday night, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Chriss and Dudley had physical altercations with Jazz guard Ricky Rubio in the Suns‘ road loss in Utah, but avoided suspensions on Saturday, league sources said.

The incident took place with 6:55 remaining in the third quarter, when Dudley was issued a Flagrant 2 for his foul on Rubio. Dudley’s fine stemmed from initiating the incident with Rubio, while Chriss was fined for escalating the situation by shoving the Utah point guard.

Chriss, 20, is in his second season with the Suns after being drafted eighth overall in 2016. Dudley, 32, is in his 11th season and has played with five NBA teams. He is in the second season of his second stint with the Suns.

The Jazz are 39-30 and occupying the seventh spot in the Western Conference playoff race; the Suns are 19-51.
