The substitute Mets have performed valiantly during the team’s injury epidemic, and now some will step aside, at least for the time being.

In yet another sign that the Mets are moving out of the darkest days of their injury epidemic, the team is set to send outfielder Khalil Lee, catcher Patrick Mazeika and reliever Sean Reid-Foley to Triple-A Syracuse. That means that Pete Alonso, Kevin Pillar and Seth Lugo are expected to be activated as planned as soon as Monday.

As previously reported, J.D Davis will resume his rehab assignment in Syracuse on Tuesday.

Bit by bit, the Mets are becoming whole again.
