Sources: Lakers to start Russell Westbrook, Kent Bazemore, DeAndre Jordan in season opener vs. Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to go with a starting lineup of Russell Westbrook, Kent Bazemore, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and DeAndre Jordan in tonight’s season opener against the Golden State Warriors, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Lakers have added several new players, and this will be the first look at a title-contending roster. They are +400 to win the 2021-22 NBA championship, per BetMGM.

The starting lineup keeps Davis at the power forward position with Jordan at center. It has long been assumed that the Lakers' lineup could feature Davis more at center, although that has not panned out in a formal way.

Jordan signed with the Lakers last month. He received a buyout from the Detroit Pistons after being traded there by the Brooklyn Nets. His role with the Nets diminished late last season, making him expendable.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel has said that he won't change the starting lineup much this season, but it wouldn't be surprising if Davis and Jordan rotate minutes at the five.

Dwight Howard, who also signed with the Lakers in the offseason, also could see minutes at the five off the bench.
