Oklahoma's 2018 recruiting didn't rest long after a torrid stretch in June picking up where they left off with the commitment of Rockdale, Texas four-star Jaquayln Crawford.

After Lincoln Riley's hiring on June 7 Oklahoma went on an unprecedented recruiting run landing six commitments for the 2018 class, as well as two more for 2019. That run ran directly into the recruiting dead period. But with that period over the Sooners picked up where they left off on Monday thanks to the pledge of one of the Lone Star State's most explosive athletes.

Crawford announced his decision to pick the Sooners over three other finalists - TCU, Texas, and Texas A&M. The Sooners went into the backyard of all three state of Texas programs and landed a commitment from a player that also held offers from Florida, Auburn, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Missouri amongst numerous others.

And though Crawford has always had a strong relationship with Oklahoma's Dennis Simmons he said earlier this month that his bond with Lincoln Riley was a big part of his thoughts of the Sooners.

"Coach Riley actually," Crawford said when asked who he speaks to most often. "We speak almost every day.

"He is a genius offensively, he broke down some things that just made so much sense to me."

Within that relationship Oklahoma has helped relay a clear plan for Crawford in how he could fit into their offense.

"They have a specific, set plan that they for me," he said. "Coach Riley sat down and watched film and said 'this is how we're going to use you'. I guess that meant a lot to me because most schools say that but don't have anything to back it up by.

"But the fact that he sat me down and said 'we want to do this and you're going to do this in my offense'."

Though Crawford admitted during the Texas State 7on7 tournament that he would still like to take an official visit to, at least, Florida but that his decision would be his final destination.

"Once I commit, I plan to stay committed."
