Son of former Bengal Chris Henry has 3 DI football offers before playing a varsity game

The oldest son of former Bengal Chris Henry, eighth-grader Chris Henry Jr., now has three NCAA Division I football offers before playing a varsity down.

Via his Instagram story Tuesday night, Henry Jr. said he received an offer from West Virgina, the alma matter of his late father and adoptive father, Adam "Pacman" Jones. Jones confirmed the offer.

Chris Henry Jr. was a starting wide receiver for the Withrow Junior High School team. He is the son of former Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver Chris Henry. The Henrys have since transferred to the West Clermont School District where they live with Henry's former teammate, Adam "Pacman" Jones.

While a Mountaineer, Chris Henry caught 93 passes for 22 touchdowns in 2003-2004. He had 119 catches for 21 touchdowns between 2004-2009 as a Cincinnati Bengal. Henry died at age 26 in 2009. He would be the same age as Pacman Jones, 38, if he were still living.

The Mountaineers join Marshall's Thundering Herd and Grambling State in offering the receiver, who is already close to his father's NFL playing size.

Henry Jr. is 6-foot-3-inches tall and 170 pounds and recently wowed spectators with his football skills on Withrow's undefeated middle school team along with his seventh-grade brother, Demarcus.

In honor of their father's No. 15 with the Bengals, Chris Jr. has worn No. 1 and DeMarcus No. 5.

With Pacman Jones living in the West Clermont district, the Henrys made news recently as they've enrolled in the West Clermont Middle School. Henry Jr. will play for West Clermont High School next season with former Hamilton coach Nate Mahon at the helm.

Another West Virginia connection, Desious "Dee" Alston, was Withrow's junior high coach for the Henrys. Alston is now slated to coordinate the West Clermont offense, which may use Henry Jr.'s skills.

Chris Henry's widow, Loleini Tonga, also has a daughter, Seini Hicks, who will play for West Clermont's girls basketball team .

West Virginia football has been active in the area recently as they also had former Covington Catholic power forward, Chandler Starks, in Morgantown for a football visit. Starks, the son of former Cincinnati Bearcat Keith Starks, who played for Bob Huggins, is now enrolled at Anderson High School.

The Raptors plan to use him as a defensive end/tight end and he could see action against Chris Henry Jr. when Anderson and West Clermont meet up in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference this fall.
