Social media reacts to Iowa Hawkeyes landing Ohio State transfer WR Kaleb Brown
After plenty of groans of frustration throughout last season and this spring regarding the offense, the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ fan base was finally rewarded for its patience.
Iowa has a potential star wide receiver joining via the transfer portal.
Ohio State transfer wide receiver Kaleb Brown announced he is donning the black and gold. The 5-foot-10, 197-pound wide receiver comes to Iowa City after one season in Columbus with the Buckeyes.
A graduate of St. Rita High School out of Chicago, Brown was a consensus four-star signee to the Buckeyes. 247Sports ranked Brown as the nation’s No. 78 player overall, as the No. 13 wide receiver and as the No. 3 player from Illinois in the 2022 class.
Per the 247Sports composite ranking, Brown’s 0.9684 composite score would actually rank the highest for a wide receiver recruit in Iowa history. That mark tops Keenan Davis’ 0.9453 score in the 2009 class and Trey Stross’ 0.9190 score in the 2005 class.
Brown took to Instagram to reveal the good news to Hawkeye fans.
After back-to-back seasons where offense has typically been optional in Iowa City, a wide receiver of Brown’s caliber naturally had Hawkeye fans’ emotions in overdrive.
It also wowed some of the national college football voices. As you’d expect, it drew a wide range of reactions. Here were the best reactions as Iowa fans rejoiced following the addition of a potential superstar in Brown.

What a time to be alive
So Iowa will have a former Michigan quarterback throwing to a former Ohio State wide receiver? College football is bizarre.

First top 100 WR in Hawkeye history
If you went by Kaleb Brown's HS ranking (78th) he'd be the first top 100 WR recruit in Iowa history. https://t.co/wgd5lRfAZa

Iowa officially knocked it out of the park in the transfer portal. Anything else they get is just gravy. They filled every need with absolute studs and found guys that fit Iowa. I’m so impressed

Respect, Buckeye Fett
We make fun of Iowa for bad offense, but pulling in Cade McNamara, Erick All, and Kaleb Brown in one offseason is a pretty impressive rebuild

Make your jokes
Here’s Kaleb Brown’s lone catch at Ohio State – a third-down screen (make your jokes, Hawkeye fans).
As he makes the grab, Joel Klatt is talking about Iowa’s need to sustain offensive drives.
Now they hope Kaleb Brown is part of the solution. pic.twitter.com/Xcok3q4VQY

Just let us enjoy this, alright?!?
Kaleb Brown going from Ohio State offensive attack especially the passing game to Iowa offense has to be a mind trip once he experiences it. I hope he goes there and balls out.

You should get away more often?
In two trips I’ve taken throughout the course of this bachelor party and wedding:
* Caitlin Clark game-winner
* Iowa historic comeback over MSU
* Bodey McCaslin commits to Iowa
* Kaleb Brown commits to Iowa (highest rated WR to ever commit to Iowa).

Sorry, David. It's strictly business.
