Social media reacts to Iowa Hawkeyes landing Ohio State transfer WR Kaleb Brown

After plenty of groans of frustration throughout last season and this spring regarding the offense, the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ fan base was finally rewarded for its patience.

Iowa has a potential star wide receiver joining via the transfer portal.

Ohio State transfer wide receiver Kaleb Brown announced he is donning the black and gold. The 5-foot-10, 197-pound wide receiver comes to Iowa City after one season in Columbus with the Buckeyes.

A graduate of St. Rita High School out of Chicago, Brown was a consensus four-star signee to the Buckeyes. 247Sports ranked Brown as the nation’s No. 78 player overall, as the No. 13 wide receiver and as the No. 3 player from Illinois in the 2022 class.

Per the 247Sports composite ranking, Brown’s 0.9684 composite score would actually rank the highest for a wide receiver recruit in Iowa history. That mark tops Keenan Davis’ 0.9453 score in the 2009 class and Trey Stross’ 0.9190 score in the 2005 class.

Brown took to Instagram to reveal the good news to Hawkeye fans.

After back-to-back seasons where offense has typically been optional in Iowa City, a wide receiver of Brown’s caliber naturally had Hawkeye fans’ emotions in overdrive.
