NBA Twitter can all breathe a heavy sigh of relief.
Lillard suffered the injury at the 7:14 mark of the third quarter of the Trail Blazers 135-115 Game 4 loss. After heading to the locker room, the five-time NBA All-Star returned to the court briefly before checking back out again. His initial MRI results were inconclusive on Monday evening.
While news that the Trail Blazers star will miss Wednesday's game doesn't bode well for Portland's chances of coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the series, it is about as good of news as the Trail Blazers could get considering Lillard avoided a major injury.
Many fans took to social media to send well-wishes to the Bubble MVP.
Damian Lillard doesn't miss games. He's played in 95.3% of the Blazers games since he got drafted.— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) August 25, 2020

No Damian Lillard in Game 5 for Portland. An incredible bubble run for one of the league's best - 4 games of at least 40 with a 51-point game and a 61-point game.— Dan Woike (@DanWoikeSports) August 25, 2020
@Dame_Lillard ur a dog, gave it all you could 🤝— Travonne Edwards (Blk Tray) (@Travonne) August 25, 2020
