Social media reactions to Florida’s three-score loss to Georgia
The 2022 Florida-Georgia game is in the books, and the Bulldogs ran away with the win, 42-20, after a mild scare in the third quarter.
It wasn’t the end Florida fans wanted to see, but a loss isn’t totally unexpected when taking on the top-ranked team in the country. The aftermath of the game saw varying takes from the Florida faithful. Some felt good about their team’s second-half performance against a fierce rival, while others called for a change at quarterback (really, guys?).
A mix of frustration and hope is the best way to describe the current state of the Gators fan base, and the post-game social media narrative backs that up.
Things won’t get much easier for Florida next week, either. The Gators are headed to College Station to face Texas A&M on the road, and a win would almost guarantee a bowl game appearance with South Carolina and Vanderbilt left on the schedule.
Here’s a look at the top reactions to Florida’s up-and-down loss to Georgia on Saturday.
No excuses from the coaching staff
Billy Napier: "Not good enough." Says execution could be better, and coaches need to coach better. #Gators

The talent gap was noticeable this week
Respectfully: The talent gap matters. https://t.co/Cz78Hk58o0

Some are ready to give Kitna a chance
Like you either gotta change the scheme to accommodate the QB or find a QB who can run what you call. Cant run this exact same thing back next year

But would a QB change really make a difference?
Dawgs much better than UF in every facet. Easy game to predict. Won’t change til Gators get better players.
Gators battled to get back in it. They do play very hard for Napier.
AR wonderful athlete, but touch, accuracy, seeing the field just not there.

Todd's preaching patience.
As I read through the timeline there are a lot of FAKE Gator fans. If you expected 10-2, 9-3 this year you don't know football….this is a true rebuild and not for the faint of heart. Get to supporting or get to stepping

It's good to recognize the silver linings
Props to the defense on the three turnovers. Definitely tightened up.

In all kind of weather, right?
Love our Gators, proud of the fight they showed tonight, heads up @GatorsFB

We hope so
If you know the history between Napier and Smart, that loss to uga was personal and they both know it'll be a whole different game next year. Go Gators 🐊

But the record is still not great...
