Even though it was expected, watching the Colorado Buffaloes get pummeled by Minnesota in every facet of the game was still brutally painful.
The Golden Gophers, much like Air Force, ran all over the Buffs in a 49-7 shellacking. Offensively, Karl Dorrell limited both Brendon Lewis and JT Shrout’s ability to develop any type of momentum by alternating them every other drive, keeping the Buffs to only one touchdown for the third consecutive week.
Social media was, of course, not pleased with the product on Saturday. I saw everything from calls to fire Dorrell immediately to even boycotting games. Things have gotten very, very ugly.
Here’s how Buff nation reacted to another rough showing:
BLOW IT UP COMPLETELY.
I know the thinking is that CU can’t afford the coaching buyout.
But honestly they can’t afford to NOT do it.
Keeping the status quo essentially tells everyone (including recruits) the school doesn’t give a shit about having a REAL football program.

Painful to say but if Mel Tucker was still our coach right now we’d probably be a bowl team
Not being able to pay him and then settling for Karl set the program back many years.

Idk if the draw play for 30 yard on third and 21 OR the strip sack into the red zone as the first offensive play, is my favorite play of the game so far

At this point, @GovofCO may need to issue a disaster declaration for the University of Colorado football program.

Next up off the Hot Seat… Karl Dorrell at Colorado. Colorado Football is a complete disaster wrapped in a Turd Tortilla

It is nuts how bad it has gotten for Colorado football.

Is Colorado the new Kansas?

Colorado’s offense is embarrassingly MORE incompetent (!) than it was last season, despite a staff overhaul and a legitimate QB competition thru fall camp. Defense has regressed, too. Overall, all things considered, the football product CU is putting on the field is pathetic.

It appears the Buffs are going to continue the streak of horrendous football.

I told CU fans to boycott Karl Dorrell, Rick George, and CU football last year and I got yelled at by people saying to support the players. Fast forward to this year and now I'm seeing lots of season ticket holders calling for a boycott. Funny how that works.

@RickGeorgeCU when do you cut the cord on this horrible football coaching staff? You will not win a game this year. I’m a die hard Buffs fan and this is pathetic!! This coach has no clue how to run a team. Please do your job and get this corrected. Saturday sucks these days!

And I’m genuinely asking because I’m barely paying attention right now.

I’m in Czech Republic, in a city called Brno 3 1/2 hours from Prague. A drunk Czech guy in a bar learned I lived in Denver for 23 years. He asked me, “Are the Buffaloes that bad?” Their incompetence is spreading.
