Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in Hong Kong on Wednesday with Jurgen Klopp‘s men reaching the final of the Premier League Asia Trophy, much to the delight of many of the local fans. Liverpool will now face Leicester, who beat West Brom on penalty kicks earlier on Wednesday, in the final of the tournament on Saturday (8:30 a.m. ET), while Palace will play West Brom (6 a.m. ET) in the third-place match. Klopp’s side went close in the first half through Mohamed Salah, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge, while Simon Mignolet denied Keshi Anderson as Crystal Palace looked dangerous on the break.
West Brom are eyeing up a move for Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, according to the Mirror. While stalwart Gareth McAuley has recently signed a one-year extension on his recent deal, Baggies boss Tony Pulis is still looking for a successor for the Northern Irishman, who has scored six Premier League goals this season. However, McAuley is 38 in December and, despite his great form this season, West Brom are eager to sign a replacement and see youth prospect Worrall as a player potentially ready to fill the void. Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed the club received an offer from AS Roma for want-away winger Riyad Mahrez but have declined the Italian club's bid. Mahrez, who was instrumental to the club's remarkable Premier League title triumph in 2016, publicly announced his desire to leave Leicester City at the end of last season after three seasons with the East Midlands club. Roma would fit the bill for the ambitious Mahrez after they finished second in Serie A last season to secure a place in next season's Champions League.
