Aaronson & Salzburg win Cup It was a huge day for Brenden Aaronson in Austria who won his first piece of silverware in Europe when he scored the second goal for Red Bull Salzburg in a 3-0 win over LASK in the Austrian Cup final. After being an integral part of 2020 Supporters Shield winning effort for the Philadelphia Union, Aaronson now has two impressive trophies to his collection inside of six months.
Leipzig substitute Emil Forsberg scored in injury time of extra time to send his team into the final of the German Cup after beating Werder Bremen 2-1 on Friday. Hwang Hee-chan, who scored Leipzig’s opening goal in the third minute of extra time, headed Kevin Kampl’s cross back across goal for Forsberg to volley past Bremen goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka.
