USS Cooperstown to join the fleet in New York City

The U.S. Navy announced the future USS Cooperstown will be stationed in New York City. The USS Cooperstown (LCS 23) will join the active fleet May 6, with a commissioning ceremony in New York City, a media release said. Cooperstown will be the newest Freedom-variant littoral combat ship to join the Surface Force. “I can't think of a better place to commission the future USS Cooperstown than New York City,” Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro said in the release.
