Becher rallies Whitecaps to 1-1 draw with Minnesota United

Simon Becher scored unassisted in his first match of the season and it came in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, rallying the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 1-1 draw with Minnesota United on Saturday night. Becher subbed in and played 20 minutes before delivering the equalizer. Minnesota United (2-0-2) was the only team to beat Vancouver (0-2-3) twice last season.

Crews continue to sift through Deep South tornado wreckage

Search and recovery crews on Sunday resumed the daunting task of digging through the debris of flattened and battered homes, commercial buildings and municipal offices after hundreds of people were displaced by a deadly tornado that ripped through the Mississippi Delta, one of the poorest regions of the U.S. At least 25 people were killed and dozens of others were injured in Mississippi as the massive storm ripped through several towns on its hour-long path Friday night. The twister flattened entire blocks, obliterated houses, ripped a steeple off a church and toppled a municipal water tower.
