In yesterday’s “friendly” against Arsenal in Beijing, Pedro was on the receiving end of what was less of a foul and more of an assault by Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina and was subsequently forced off after sustaining what appeared to be a concussion. Pedro was taken to hospital for tests and overnight observations, but Antonio Conte reassured that all was okay and that the Chelsea winger would rejoin the tour immediately afterwards. Unfortunately, it looks like everything might not be completely okay, as the decision has now been made to send Pedro back home to London for “further review” of the concussion as well as what’s being called “facial injuries”. Chelsea are set to face Bayern Munich and Inter Milan on Tuesday and Saturday, respectively, but we will have to do so without Pedro.
