That's all for today. Thank you for following our live coverage. Until next time, goodbye!
Zenit wil be looking to build on this momentum when they host Spartak Moscow in the Russian Premier League on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lyon shall aim to respond when they travel to Strasbourg this weekend in Ligue 1.
FULL-TIME: ZENIT 2-0 LYON
Final change for the hosts as Kuzyaev makes way for Aleksei Sutormin.
We are going to have four minutes of stoppage time at the end of this game. It has been a very good day's work for Zenit and they will now be hoping to see things through.
Rakitskiy is booked and will miss Zenit's final group game as a result.
Garcia's frustration is evident as a potential Lyon attack is halted by the offside flag. His side have been nowhere near their best today and will need to improve if they are to keep their own hopes of progressing alive.
As things stand, this result will put Zenit in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages for the fourth time in seven appearances.
Zhirkov cushioned the ball neatly into the path of Ozdoyev, whose deflected strike could put the game beyond Lyon.
OZDOYEV MAKES IT 2-0!!! Zenit have breathing space with six minutes remaining! A cross from the right is cushioned into the path of Ozdoyev, whose shot takes a huge deflection off Marcelo before beating a helpless Lopes.
Another change for Zenit as Azmoun makes way for Aleksandr Erokhin.
Meanwhile, Lyon opt for an attacking change as Amine Gouiri comes on for Andersen.
Semak turns to the bench and Driussi is withdrawn in favour of Yuri Zhirkov.
We are into the final 10 minutes at the Gazprom Arena. Can Zenit hold on for a very important three points, or will Lyon force a dramatic equaliser?
A loose pass from Traore is pounced on by Driussi. The winger delivers a dangerous cross but it is headed away by Andersen, who has had a solid game at the back for Lyon.
Cornet is unable to continue following the strong challenge from Ozdoyev and is replaced by 16-year-old Rayan Cherki.
Ozdoev is shown a yellow card for a rash challenge on Cornet.
Kone has looked lively since his introduction. The full-back gets forward to support a Lyon attack, but sends a tame 20-yard shot straight into the grateful arms of Kerzhakov.
That was a big opportunity for Lyon and they cannot afford to waste too many more like that in order to get something from this game.
Lyon turn to the bench and Marcal is replaced by Mali international Youssouf Kone.
Barrios has his name taken for bringing down Reine-Adelaide, who was threatening to counter for Lyon.
Lyon continue to pressure and a deep ball into the box is met by Dembele. However, his looping header drops just over the crossbar.
Good clearance! Reine-Adelaide produces terrific trickery as he works his way into the box. The midfielder delivers an inviting ball across the face of goal, but Driussi is alert to head away to safety.
However, they are going to have to be a lot better from set-pieces. After forcing a corner, the delivery does not even beat the first man and is easily cleared away to safety.
Les Gones certainly have plenty of purpose in their play. Dubois tries his luck this time with a curling left-footed effort and Kerzhakov has to be alert to gather.
The visitors go onto the attack early in the second half. A drilled ball into the area ricochets kindly for Tousart to strike, but he pulls his effort wide of the target.
Off we go again! Lyon get the ball rolling once more.
The goal aside, it has been a generally disappointing first half at the Gazprom Arena. Neither side has really got going and hit their full potential yet. However, with their managers' words likely to still be ringing in their ears, it could make for an improved second period.
HALF-TIME: ZENIT 1-0 LYON
Unhappy at a decision not going his way, Dubois talks himself into a booking. Lyon need to be mindful of their discipline here.
Marcal is shown a yellow card for protesting after he felt there was an infringement leading up to the goal.
Douglas' delivery had plenty of pace and height, and was begging to be attacked.
DZYUBA!!!!!! 1-0 TO ZENIT! The hosts lead at the Gazprom Arena and it has come courtesy of their talisman. Dzyuba climbs brilliantly to meet Douglas' corner and power his header beyond the helpless dive of Lopes.
Zenit looking to finish the half in a strong manner and following good persistence by Dzyuba, Andersen is forced into conceding a corner. Can the hosts capitalise on this?
Had that gone in, it would have provided another reason for Azmoun to celebrate. The Iranian striker was recently shortlisted for the Asian International Player of the Year award for 2019.
Zenit could have had an appeal for a penalty as replays showed that Azmoun was caught by the outrushing Lopes. However, there is no reference to VAR on this occasion and play goes on.
Cornet attempts to split the Zenit defence with a neat low ball into the box, but the hosts are alert and able to clear the danger.
Andersen, who signed from Italian side Palermo in July, has made over 10 appearances for Lyon this season. The Danish defender's performances were recognised when he was awarded his full international debut in last month's win over Luxembourg.
Andersen has his name taken for fouling Dzyuba on the halfway line.
Zenit go onto the attack at the other end and a low ball is dummied twice before reaching Kuzyaev, but the winger's 20-yard shot is always rising.
After being forced wide by Kerzhakov, Dembele keeps a dangerous Lyon attack alive. The ball eventually breaks for Traore to strike, but the Zenit goalkeeper is equal to it.
Kuzyaev is shown the first yellow card of the game for a late challenge on Marcal. He will now miss Zenit's final group game.
The former Celtic front man, Dembele has scored 10 goals for Lyon in all competitions this season. Although, he is still awaiting his maiden strike in the Champions League and Zenit will certainly have to be on their guard to keep him at bay today.
Dembele has the first opportunity to stretch his legs and embarks on a pacy run into the box. However, the former Celtic striker's touch is a little heavy and Kerzhakov is quickly out of goal to gather.
Zenit turn up the pressure at the other end and a dangerous cross from the left flashes across the face of goal before Dzyuba and Azmoun can react.
Reine-Adelaide looks to cause problems and does well to evade a couple of challenges as he advances into the penalty area. However, Rakitskiy reads the danger and comes across to make an important interception.
Zenit launch their first attack at the other end of the field. A low ball towards the edge of the area is well dummied by Dzyuba before Azmoun shoots straight at Lopes.
Lyon have looked the more threatening of the two sides early on. After forcing a corner that is only half-cleared, Marcal can only fire an ambitious volley way over the crossbar.
The referee blows his whistle and Zenit get the match underway!
Nothing could separate the two sides on matchday one as they played out a 1-1 draw in France. Another stalemate would keep Zenit's hopes of progressing to the knockout stages alive, but they would still trail Lyon by three points going into the final matchday.
The teams are making their way out onto the field and kick-off is moments away.
