It seems the Bosnian fans' pre-match Ronaldo baiting just might have worked. Cristiano couldn't muster an act of revenge for the "Messi, Messi!" chants at the airport and lasers in his eyes during training -- two things the home fans repeated during the scoreless first leg of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Euro 2012 playoff against Portugal.
Ronaldo did have a few chances during the match, but Bosnia proved to be a tricky opponent and the pitch wasn't quite what he's used to. After scuffing a clear shot on goal from inside the box well wide of the net, Ronaldo showed his frustration by ripping up a chunk of that less than manicured pitch and spiking it back down.
So while Bosnia were able to keep Ronaldo at bay this time, the decisive leg will be on his turf. Where the fans only chant his name and shine a warm spotlight in his eyes instead of green lasers. In other words, things will be different.
