After scoring both goals (within four minutes of each other) in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Malaga on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo was shown a straight red in the 70th minute for delivering a no-look elbow to the face of Malaga defender Patrick Jan Mtiliga. The blow broke Mtiliga's nose and proved that Cristiano must be taking anger management lessons from JWoww on MTV's "Jersey Shore".
This is the second straight week that Ronaldo's greasy frustrations have boiled over, though. Last week he reacted to the taunting of Athletic Bilbao supporters by making like he was going to smash a fan in the face with the ball, then, of course, this time he actually struck. And with damaging results.
I guess this proves that if you ever plan on calling him a "Paris Hilton-infected, hot pants-wearing diver" to his face, you better cover your nose after you do it.
UPDATE: Cristiano has been given a two-match ban for the elbow, so I guess La Liga's Competition Committee was convinced enough that the elbow was, in fact, deliberate and not all Mtiliga's fault for being too short, as Ronaldo has claimed.
