On The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith and Fallon teamed up to reminisce about the golden days of TV theme songs with a musical mashup. They started with Golden Girls, then moved on up…or, over to the stage with The Jeffersons. From there they hit most of the classics including The Andy Griffith Show, I Dream of Jeannie, and The Love Boat, among others.
The the highlights included a spirited performance in which Smith and Fallon had a really good time performing the theme to Good Times. They proved that the two of them are more than enough when singing the theme to Three’s Company. And of course, they couldn’t forget the greatest American theme song for The Greatest American Hero.
Some notable omissions were Perfect Strangers, Who’s The Boss, and Growing Pains, but there’s only so much time in the show.
One sitcom theme song that’s stood the test of time that you could be sure they were going to get to was Will Smith’s own The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
