SMALL SCHOOL PREVIEW: Hartshorne, Quinton look to lock up district standings
Nov. 2—One final game will decide the Miners' path through the playoffs.
Hartshorne is hosting Liberty in the regular season finale Friday, with the winner set to lock up second place in District A-6.
Liberty (8-1, 5-1) is coming off a dominant win against Mounds last week, setting up its showdown with Hartshorne.
The Miners (6-3, 5-1) themselves are coming off a big win on the road at Allen, and ensuring Hartshorne can't finish lower than third place in the district.
A Hartshorne win will slot the Miners into second place in the district, setting up a playoff first-round matchup with the third-place finisher in District A-5 — a placing that won't be solidified until the results of this week's Morrison vs. Pawnee matchup.
A loss for the Miners would send Hartshorne on a path to face Woodland, the second-place finisher in District A-5 in the first round of the postseason.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
WEBBERS FALLS AT QUINTON (Thursday)
Quinton will host Webbers Falls in the final game of the regular season Thursday, with district-finishing implications on the line.
Webbers Falls (7-2, 2-2) is coming off a 58-52 loss against Caddo. Meanwhile Quinton (5-4, 2-2) is coming off a dominant win against Porum, making it and Webbers Falls tied for third place in District B-5.
A win would lock Quinton into third place, sending the green machine on a playoff opening-round game against Welch. A loss will slot Quinton into fourth place, where it will face Keota in the opening round of the postseason.
Kickoff for Thursday night's game is set for 7 p.m.
