A true sports power couple is taking the big step.

Tennis star Sloane Stephens, currently ranked No. 8 in the world, announced her engagement Monday to soccer player Jozy Altidore, the No. 3 goal scorer in the history of the U.S. men’s national soccer team.

The couple adhered to the new courting traditions by posting dueling photos on Instagrams announcing the news.

Stephens and Altidore were originally childhood friends, having both been groomed for stardom at athlete factory IMG Academy, and began dating at the start of 2016, according to USA Today.

Since then, Stephens has won her first career Grand Slam at the 2017 U.S. Open and peaked at No. 3 in the tennis rankings, while Altidore has continued his MLS career with Toronto FC. Having both members of a relationship work as professional athletes can be tough on the schedule, but their connection seems to make it work.

From USA Today:

“She is somebody who gets everything I am going through without having to say anything,” Altidore added. “You look at each other and you kind of know right away if one of you is annoyed. She just kind of gets the mood I’m in, as obviously she lives a very similar kind of life.

"In that regard it works really well, there is no stress. She is a successful athlete and I do okay, and we just enjoy our time together when we are together.”
