Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is one of the rising stars in the NBA. The young man out of Kentucky just wrapped up a second season in the league where he averaged 17.5 points and he shot 42.7% from deep, 48% after the All-Star break.

Those numbers are all up big leaps from his rookie season as he took on a much larger role in the 2021-22 season. First, he was the team’s point guard amid the Ben Simmons saga, and then he had to move to the shooting guard position after they acquired James Harden. He handled both positions like a professional and handled his business.

Maxey sat down with “The Hoop Genius” on TikTok and he detailed his early morning workouts during the week. The 21-year-old gets up at 5 in the morning every day and he gets in three workouts before 11 a.m.

Considering his maniacal work ethic, one has to assume that Maxey is headed for another big leap in his third season. If he continues to grow his game, he could be in the mix to head to Utah for the All-Star game in 2023.
