Sixers star Joel Embiid questionable against Thunder on Saturday

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has played three games since returning from a knee injury. After playing well in the first two, he posted just 14 points and nine rebounds with only four free throw attempts on Friday night, and the center may have suffered a setback to his knee.

During one play in that game against the New Orleans Pelicans, he fell awkwardly and grabbed his knee as he was getting up. Head coach Doc Rivers said afterward that this may change the plan to have him suit up against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

“All plans were to play Joel tomorrow, but he fell awkwardly,” Rivers said, according to Sixers Wire. “Now, we will have to wait and see.”

Embiid is questionable as of Saturday morning, but that doesn’t mean this would be an easy win for Oklahoma City if the MVP candidate can’t suit up. The Sixers went 7-3 when he was out due to the injury.

Starting in his place would likely be Mike Scott, though it could be Dwight Howard.

Former Thunder guard George Hill also remains out in his return to Oklahoma City.

Tipoff for the Saturday night matchup is scheduled for 8 p.m.
