Sixers looking to bounce back vs. Thunder after bad loss to Pelicans

The Philadelphia 76ers are continuing their road trip on Saturday as they get set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. This comes after a bad loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday where things just did not go their way.

Philadelphia could only muster up 94 points against one of the worst defenses in the league in New Orleans and they committed 19 turnovers which led to 16 Pelicans points. They only shot 41.8% from the floor and they were 11-for-31 from deep as their offensive ineptitude stopped them from really getting the win.

“We get another opportunity,” said Tobias Harris who had 23 points to lead the Sixers. “That’s the great thing about this game and about playing in the NBA. There’s another opportunity to figure out a way to be better, to take things that we can learn from this game.”

The Sixers admitted that they were mentally weak in their loss on Friday. As they get set to take on the Thunder, there are plenty of things they can take to move on and get better at as they continue with this 4-game road trip.

“You don’t have much of a choice,” said veteran Danny Green. “You got to bounce back. If you don’t and let it linger, you’ll find yourself in a funk, and lose multiple games in a row. The goal is to win in the next two. We gotta stay healthy, stay locked in, and get some wins.”

The Sixers are in a tough battle with the Brooklyn Nets for the race to get the No. 1 seed in the East and at this point, the losses are magnified a bit more considering the importance of home-court advantage in Philadelphia’s case.

“You’ve got to be ready,” said Furkan Korkmaz. “We’ve got to take care of our bodies. Right now, we’ve got to jump on a plane and go to OKC. We’ve got to forget about this game because it’s another day, another opportunity for us. We’ve got to go and show ourselves tomorrow (Saturday).”

The Sixers and the Thunder tip-off at 9 p.m. EDT from Chesapeake Energy Arena.
