Sixers full schedule released as Joel Embiid, James Harden begin anew

The 2022-23 season is right around the corner in the NBA, and the Philadelphia 76ers will begin anew as Joel Embiid and James Harden have their first full season together.

The Sixers acquired Harden at the trade deadline in the 2021-22 season. He played 21 games for them, but they will be able to have a full training camp and a full season together to grow as a team. Harden and Embiid plan on making a deep run in the playoffs, and it begins with the first game of the regular season in October.

The Sixers will open the season against the Boston Celtics on the road on Oct. 18. They will open the home schedule against the Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 20. They will face the New York Knicks on Christmas Day on the road as one of the marquee games on the schedule.

The Phoenix Suns will make a trip to Philadelphia on Nov. 7. Ben Simmons and the Nets will be at the Wells Fargo Center on Nov. 22. And the Los Angeles Lakers pay their annual visit on Dec. 9. The defending champion Golden State Warriors head to Philly on Dec. 16. That will be a part of a seven-game homestand for Philadelphia.

They will have a five-game road trip from Jan. 14 through Jan. 21 when they visit the Utah Jazz, the Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Sacramento Kings.

The Sixers will have a big opportunity to accomplish something big now that Harden and Embiid have had time to bond and work out over the summer. Combine that growing chemistry with the additions of PJ Tucker, Danuel House Jr., De’Anthony Melton and Trevelin Queen, and the Sixers can really make some noise in the East.
