Philadelphia 76ers rookies Jaden Springer and Aaron Henry have been assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League, according to Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire.

Springer and Henry have seen minimal playing time with the Sixers, each logging just two minutes of action. They previously participated with the Blue Coats during their training camp last month and are now expected to play with them on Friday versus the Maine Celtics.

The contest will be the second of the season for the Blue Coats.

Springer averaged 2.5 points, two rebounds and one assist in four appearances with the Sixers during the preseason. Henry, who is signed to a two-way contract, averaged 2.5 points, 1.8 steals, 1.5 rebounds and one assist in four games.

76ers head coach Doc Rivers previously pointed to Blue Coats head coach Coby Karl and his ability to develop players. The team has used the Blue Coats extensively in the past and has found success so they feel comfortable sending Springer and Henry to Delaware.

Springer and Henry figure to spend much of the season in a developmental role, either with the Sixers or Blue Coats. The opportunity to play with the Blue Coats should only help improve their games and ease the transition to the NBA.

The contest between the Blue Coats and Celtics can be streamed starting at 7 p.m. EST.
