The A's have set their roster for the 60-game 2020 MLB season.

The team announced the 54-player pool for the season Sunday, with 42 reporting to Oakland and 12 players reporting to an alternate training site.

The first workouts are scheduled for July 4 for the players showing up in Oakland.

Teams were allowed to have up to 60 players in the initial pool, so the A's still have six spots on the roster to play with. MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez reported Saturday that Oakland was planning to include No. 4 prospect Robert Puason in the player pool, and that possibility remains with the A's leaving slots available.

The A's are planning to add three prospects to the alternate training site group once they return to the United States, The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reported Saturday.

Slusser also reported that Oakland plans to sign first-round pick Tyler Soderstrom to a contract on Monday, and he also will be joining the dozen already assigned to the alternate training site.

Nick Allen, the organization's No. 5 prospect per MLB.com, will be among the 12 reporting to the alternate training site. Allen is an advanced defender who really came along in his development at the plate last season before a high-ankle sprain in June brought his season to an end.
