Sharks vs. Flyers lineups: Projected lines, pairings for Tuesday night

Perhaps the best way to move past a loss is to jump right into the next game. And that's exactly what the San Jose Sharks will do – skip dwelling on their frustrating loss to the New York Islanders and prepare to face the Flyers in Philadelphia this Tuesday evening.

San Jose looked like the better team for the majority of Monday's game against the Isles. But netminder Robin Lehner stopped their best attempts as he pitched a shutout in his first start for New York.

The Sharks will look to rebound by getting on the scoreboard early and often as they try to find the perfect chemistry on offense while forward Joe Thornton remains sidelined after experiencing swelling in his surgically-repaired knee.

The Flyers are dealing with injury news of their own. They'll be without James van Riemsdyk for an estimated five to six weeks after he sustained a lower-body injury in Philadelphia's loss Saturday night to the Colorado Avalanche. JVR signed a five-year deal with the club over the off-season and contributed one assist in two regular season games so far with the Flyers.

Tonight's tilt, which also serves as the Flyers' home opener, is the first in a two-game series between San Jose and Philadelphia. The Sharks and Flyers split their two-game series last season, with San Jose registering a 3-1 victory at Wells Fargo Center last November.

Sharks projected lines:
Melker Karlsson – Joe Pavelski – Timo Meier
Tomas Hertl – Logan Couture – Kevin Labanc
Evander Kane – Antti Suomela – Joonas Donskoi
Barclay Goodrow – Rourke Chartier – Marcus Sorensen

Marc-Edouard Vlasic – Erik Karlsson
Joakim Ryan – Brent Burns
Brenden Dillion – Justin Braun

Martin Jones – projected starter
Aaron Dell

Flyers projected lines:
Claude Giroux – Sean Couturier – Jakub Voracek
Oskar Lindblom – Nolan Patrick – Travis Konecny

Scott Laughton – Jori Lehtera – Michael Raffl

Ivan Provorov – Shayne Gostisbehere
Robert Hagg – Andrew MacDonald
Travis Sanheim – Radko Gudas

Brian Elliott – projected starter
Calvin Pickard
