The Sharks are looking to end their road trip on a high note as they cap off their four-game stint in Western Canada in a Monday night rumble with the Vancouver Canucks.
San Jose extended its winning streak to five in a row on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Kevin Labanc registered his first career NHL hat trick, and Joe Thornton tied Gordie Howe on the league's all-time assists list.
The Canucks are also coming off of a win, beating the Pacific Division-leading Calgary Flames 4-3 on Saturday. That win snapped a three-game losing skid where the Canucks lost each by just one goal. Vancouver currently has 57 points on the season, and entered Monday just two points out of the Western Conference's final Wild Card spot.
This is the first time the teams have played since the Sharks beat the Canucks 4-0 on Nov. 23. Through 122 games played between the franchises, San Jose has a 59-48-9-6 record.
