Sharks' Kane hilariously rates Karlsson, Burns' fashion originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Sharks winger Evander Kane knows fashion. A man who can pull off a bright pink suit with confidence is someone we should all strive to be like. That means when he gets to see what his teammates are wearing, he gets to comment. Right?
Yep. It’s the content we crave.
Kane sat down with NBC Sports’ Kathryn Tappen while they got pedicures and gave out fashion ratings (out of five) -- and he was pretty kind about it.
Teammate Erik Karlsson, who signed an eight-year contract extension over the summer with the Sharks, was given a 3 1/2 rating by Kane, and it had a lot to do with his man bun.
That’s fair. You either love it or hate it.
The next victim was Brett Burns, who only got 2 1/2 stars for his plaid red suit and camouflage backpack combo.
“Uh … Ron Burgundy,” Kane said.
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. But Kane admitted he didn’t totally hate the look and gave him a "four" rating.
Kane used the downtime during the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic to launch his own "EK9" clothing line. He wanted to build his brand to do more outside of hockey and teamed up with a San Jose-based designer to implement it.
It didn't appear Kane gave anyone a perfect rating, but you can watch the rest of the interview atop this page and right here.
