Shaquem Griffin inspires young 1-handed fan in Detroit
Shaquem Griffin continues to be an inspiration.
The rookie linebacker who wowed NFL scouts and was drafted in the fifth round by the Seattle Seahawks despite not having a left hand made the roster and even started his first professional game.
His season has slowed since Week 1, with Griffin seeing limited playing time while recording three tackles on the season.
Shaquem Griffin has great pregame moment
But that hasn’t stopped young fans from looking up to him.
One young fan in Detroit Sunday showed up with his father dressed in Lions gear for their game against the Seahawks.
But when he took off his Lions jacket, he had a Griffin jersey underneath and revealed that he, too is missing a hand.

ABC 7 in Detroit reported that the young fan got a sideline pass for the game so he could get an up-close look at his football hero.
Young fans have followed Griffin since he was drafted
Griffin has been a role model for young fans with missing limbs since he joined the NFL. The Tacoma Press Tribune recently profiled a youth football player who broke down in tears when gifted a Griffin jersey for his birthday.
While Griffin’s impact on the field has been limited, his story continues to affect young fans off the field.
