As the Oklahoma City Thunder enter the upper echelon of the league, fame will soon follow.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the best example of this. After coming off a career year where he finished No. 5 in MVP voting, it was announced on Monday that he signed with Kim Kardashian’s SKIM Men’s clothing line.
Gilgeous-Alexander joins Neymar Jr. and Nick Bosa as the inaugural athletes for the underwear line. The 25-year-old even received a dedicated Instagram post by Kardashian following the announcement.
This comes on the same day that the Thunder were featured in SLAM Magazine. Gilgeous-Alexander’s on-court production continues to open avenues for him outside of basketball as he becomes more of a household name with his play.
As the Thunder continue to gain national relevance, so will their players when it comes to receiving off-court opportunities to further grow their brand.
Much like Russell Westbrook, it appears Gilgeous-Alexander will lean towards the fashion and clothing aspect of fame.
