The Washington Football Team's temporary name change also comes with temporary uniform alterations, which includes a major change to the helmet.
The jerseys of themselves will look rather similar besides the word 'Washington' being used instead of the old moniker, but the helmets will be a new look not just for the team but for the NFL in general as they will feature the numbers of each player in place of a logo.
While we've seen photos of the jerseys, and what players will look like in them, we haven't been treated to many images of what the helmets will look like in action. That's changed as of late, as Landon Collins posted a mockup on Tuesday, and now there's another glimpse of the potential helmets courtesy of "redskinstailgate" on Instagram.
The user chose quarterback Dwayne Haskins as his focus and put together a concept of what No. 7's helmet may resemble, and it's awesome.
The design is so simple yet so effective. It not only perfectly embodies the Burgundy and Gold theme, but it does it in a way that isn't overbearing to the eyes. The helmet resembles the look some college football programs use, including Alabama.
Though Washington may look to change the helmets when a new team name is decided upon, a design like this could potentially become a fan favorite and have many asking for it to remain even after the rebrand.
