Second report of Eagles having ‘interest’ in Bills’ Brian Daboll
The New York Jets are officially in the rearview mirror in regard to Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
That doesn’t mean the sweepstakes is over.
The Jets were one of two teams that had interviewed Daboll for their head coaching gig but hired San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh on Thursday. The other interviewee was the Los Angeles Chargers. As of Friday, the Jets might soon be replaced by the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark, the Eagles “are also interested” in Daboll. In a surprise, the Eagles fired head coach Doug Pederson earlier this week. This is the second time that Daboll has been connected to the Birds since then. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio did the same.
Like Paolantonio, Clark did fall short of saying the Eagles have asked Bills for permission to interview Daboll just yet. In that same sense, a report over the weekend also connected Daboll to the Houston Texans‘ vacant position, but again, no permission for an interview has been asked from Houston just yet.
On the Texans, Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier did confirm on Monday that he will interview for the Texans’ vacancy.
