SEC analyst says UNC ‘shines’ in realignment
The talk of realignment in college athletics won’t be going away anytime soon. After another active Summer that saw movement in conferences, including the ACC, things will continue to heat up even more in the future.
In the ACC, there are a few schools that could be pursued by big conferences like the SEC and Big Ten. That includes North Carolina, a program that ‘shines’ to at least one conference per one analyst.
Radio host and SEC analyst Paul Finebaum was on the “The Audible” podcast hosted by Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel of The Athletic, to talk about college football through two weeks. Among the topics brought up were realignment, where he says Florida State is at the bottom of the trio of UNC, Clemson, and the Seminoles in terms of realignment. He also had this to say about UNC:
And I think another thing — and this is where North Carolina shines — is that I really think the SEC likes the idea of these prominent, premier state universities, like Oklahoma, like Texas, like Florida, like the University of North Carolina.
That would be great news for North Carolina if they were to pursue another conference like the SEC in the future.
