Season-ending Blue League results

Jan. 17—Results from last Saturday's regular season-ending Blue League games played at Walter J. Baird Middle School:

GIRLSSam Houston 32, Coles Ferry 22

Pyper Davis dropped in 16 points for Sam Houston while Jada James scored six, Corlin Caruthers and Skyy Spencer four each and Ansley Gray two.

Tenley Gill tossed in 12 points for Coles Ferry while Arielle Schutt scored six and Kate Lanning and Malie Boldt two each.

Sam Houston's Spencer scored the only two points in the fifth quarter.

Carroll-Oakland 30, Byars Dowdy 2

Brinley Holcomb had 12 points for Carroll-Oakland while Aubrey Bell scored six, Lily Padilla four and Joiner Rooks, Hillary Trice, La'Kyia Hastings and Laekyn King two apiece.

Promise Manier had both Byars Dowdy points.

Carroll-Oakland's Adrina Blaylock and Byars Dowdy's Layken Frazier each finished with four points apiece in the fifth quarter

Castle Heights 25, Jones Brummett 20

Toni Ann Calvetti and Kaydence Manning led the Lady Knights with 11 points apiece while Tensley Smithhisler had two and Gracie Jo Lindsey a free throw,

Annsley McDonald dropped in 10 points, Sloane Greer six and Hadleigh Auth four for the Lady Hawks.

Ava Taylor tossed in two fifth-period points for Jones Brummett.


Sam Houston 35, Coles Ferry 29

Moreno, Cain and Gibbs each notched nine points for Sam Houston while Jones scored six and Reynolds two,

Trey Blevins tossed in 10 points for Coles Ferry while Ace Sandefur scored eight, Luke Hawkins seven and Aarav Patel and Jax Bundy two each.

Grant Gailbreath tossed in two fifth-period points for Coles Ferry.

Carroll-Oakland 43, Byars Dowdy 34

Wade Meyers poured in 18 points for Carroll-Oakland while Braden Carr notched nine, Jentry Simpson eight, J.P. Walters four and J.C. McCallister and Kase Johnson two each.

Elijah Moore led the Lions with 16 points while Lucas Spann scored 13. Camden McFarland finished with three and Bryce Gray two.

Luke Allen tossed in two fifth-period points for Carroll-Oakland

Jones Brummett 40, Castle Heights 25

Eli Deffendall drained 24 points for Jones Brummett while Luke Walden scored six, Brayden Tubbs and Colt Wood four each and Easton Reinhehl two.

Braylon Steverson scored 11 points and Connor Ryan 10 for Castle Heights. Ivan Crump Jr., and Carson Sells each supplied two points.

The postseason tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, weather permitting, at Lebanon High's Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court.

Girls action tips off at 8 a.m. with Coles Ferry taking on Jones Brummett with the winner taking on top-seed Sam Houston at 1 p.m. in one semifinal. Byars Dowdy will face Castle Heights at 9:15 a.m. with the winer taking on No. 2 Carroll-Oakland at 2:15 p.m. in the other semifinal. The championship game is set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday,

On the boys' side, Sam Houston and Carroll-Oakland will play at 10:30 a.m. with the winner facing top-seed Jones Brummett at 3:30 p.m. Byars Dowdy will take on Coles Ferry at 11:45 a.m. with the winner taking on No. 2 Castle Heights at 4:45 p.m. Semifinal winners will meet for the championship at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
