Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?!
It’s a great time to be a fan in the Emerald City. The Seattle Storm are coming off their fourth WNBA Championship in franchise history; the Seattle Seahawks are 4-0 and heading into Sunday Night Football with one of the best - if not the best - quarterback in the league with a chance to go 5-0 for the first time in franchise history;
From one Seattle G.O.A.T. to another, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson sported a Sue Bird Seattle Storm jersey ahead of Sunday night’s matchup hosting the Minnesota Vikings.
Sue Bird returned the favor, narrating a hype video for Wilson's season so far as shared by the Seahawks on social media.
.@seattlestorm legend @S10Bird knows an MVP when she sees one and @DangeRussWilson is looking pretttttty valuable right now 😏— Sunday Night Football (@SNFonNBC) October 12, 2020
Yeah, she said it. "Russ for MVP." @OnHerTurf | @Seahawks pic.twitter.com/AONUqz6Xwz
Also to note, the Storm defeated the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA semi-finals this season… but that’s besides the point.
During the 2020 WNBA regular season at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, the Storm lost just four games and earned the overall No. 2 seed heading into the playoffs. The rest is history.
Bird, 39, claimed her fourth WNBA Championship in her 16-year career and doesn’t sound like she’s quite done yet.
Following the Storm’s championship win, Seahawks veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner said that Bird deserved a statue, and we couldn’t agree more.

"It was amazing to watch them dominate. ... Hopefully we can do the same thing we did."

"She deserves a statue."
Can the Seahawks take that ‘Championship mentality’ and apply it to tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup against Minnesota? We’ll soon find out.
