Pete Carroll’s custom #CoachTheVote Nike Monarchs still up for auction originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has an iconic look while on the sidelines.
You can’t miss those khakis, loud gum chewing, and silver hair strutting up and down the sidelines with a fresh pair of white Nike Monarchs.
It’s a look that not many can pull off.
Last Sunday, you may have noticed that Carroll wasn’t sporting his typical white Monarchs in Miami, Florida. Instead, Carroll was wearing a custom pair of Nike Monarchs designed by artist Perry Porter from Tacoma, Washington.
The “#CoachTheVote” shoes are available for auction to raise money for Urban Art Works.
We worked with Tacoma artist @PerryPorter to customize a special pair of #CoachTheVote @Nike Monarchs that I wore yesterday vs the Dolphins. The shoes are now up for auction to raise money for @Urban_ArtWorks:— Pete Carroll (@PeteCarroll) October 5, 2020

Carroll and the Seahawks have been adamant about encouraging others to vote this election season. Carroll cancelled a Saturday practice during training camp to ensure that all his players were registered to vote. Now, he has taken part in the #CoachTheVote campaign, that was inspired by journalist Jemele Hill.
“It’s an exciting from for us in our country and all. It’s an exciting time for all of us with football season around. But also we got work to do and in an attempt to try and do something positive, I’m challenging three coaches here in hopes that you guys will take the challenge and do everything you can to get your guys on your team to vote…”
Those three coaches are LSU’s Ed Orgeron, Alabama’s Nick Saban and Stanford’s David Shaw.
As of the time of the published article, the current bid for these shoes is $825.
This Sunday on SNF, Carroll will be sporting a new pair of his Monarchs with a custom 'Bubblegum-inspired' design by artist Adrian Brandon from Mt. Baker, Washington.
