Trail Blazers fans back in 2000 were just as ruthless with their sign making when attending games at the Rose Garden/Moda Center as fans today.

And fans today, enjoyed tweeting about how electrifying it was in the Rose Garden during Game 5 of the Trail Blazers and Jazz 2000 Western Conference Finals showdown.

Fans of today were also enjoying how nice, but also somber, it was to see the late Paul Allen sitting in his baseline seat.

As for the magical Game 5, there was plenty to talk about on social media.

Here's out the 2000s WESTERN CONFERENCE

SEMIFINALS matchup looked:

Game 1:

PORTLAND 94, Utah 75

Game 2:

PORTLAND 103, Utah 85

Game 3:

Portland 103, UTAH 84

Game 4:

UTAH 88, Portland 85

Game 5:

PORTLAND 81, Utah 79 (Thanks to Scottie Pippen)

Of course, there was plenty of love to go around on Twitter for Trail Blazers starting small forward Scottie Pippen, who finished the game with 23 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

The Blazers had called a timeout with 47.9 seconds remaining in the game with Portland down by four.

But with Rasheed Wallace hitting a fade away jumper followed by Pippen swishing in a clutch three-pointer from the wing, Utah quickly called a timeout with 7.3 seconds to go.

Pippen's three and one-of-two makes from the free throw line gave the Blazers the 81-79 lead with 1.5 seconds remaining, which would be the eventual final, but with that, we all know, the Jazz had to be so tired of seeing Scottie Pippen.

Oh AND... the depth of this Trail Blazers team cannot be overlooked.

Portland's starters:

Scottie Pippen

Rasheed Wallace

Arvydas Sabonis

Steve Smith

Damon Stoudamire

As if that starting lineup wasn't star-studded enough,  Portland's second unit players during their 2000s playoff run included:

Bonzi Wells

Detlef Schrempf

Gary Grant

Brian Grant

Greg Anthony

Fans of 2020 were loving this talented squad.

One thing was certain: Sabonis always made everything he did on both ends of the court look effortless. In the Game 5 win, Sabonis finished with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting to go along with nine rebounds.
