HARRISONBURG – Senior quarterback Bryan Schor threw for four touchdowns to lead No. 1 James Madison past Maine 28-10 on Saturday at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg.
With the top-ranked Dukes trailing by three points in the third quarter, Schor threw a 22-yard scoring strike to an outstretched David Eldridge that would put his team back ahead again at 14-10.
The signal-caller tacked on another score when he found running back Taylor Woods leaking out of the backfield early in the fourth quarter. That touchdown came on the series immediately following junior cornerback Rashad Robinson’s interception of Maine quarterback Chris Ferguson’s pass.
JMU’s defense limited the Black Bears to 299 total yards while recording three interceptions and four sacks of Ferguson.
Maine gained its lead when sophomore running back Josh Mack broke a 60-yard touchdown run on the first drive after halftime.
JMU (4-0, 1-0 CAA) continues CAA play next week when it travels to Delaware. Maine (1-2, 0-2 CAA) is off next week.
