Schenevus, CV-S girls earn spots in TVL title game

Feb. 7—The Schenevus girls basketball team earned a spot in the Tri-Valley League championship game with a 62-50 home win over Richfield Springs Wednesday.

Sam Barrett led the scoring with 22 points while Amber Burton and Cady Ritton each finished with 14 points.

Issy Seamon was the Eagles' top scorer with 22 points while Gabby Seamon scored 11 of her own.

Schenevus will take on Cherry Valley-Springfield in the title game next Saturday.

Cherry Valley-Springfield 57, Edmeston/Morris 52

The Cherry Valley-Springfield girls upset Edmeston/Morris 57-52 on the road Wednesday to advance to the Tri-Valley League title game.

Morgan Huff led the Lady Patriots with 19 points while Daphnee West scored 14 and Mia Dubben and Brin Whiteman pitched in 11 points apiece.

Molly Rifanburg was the top scorer for E/M with 14 points while Brenna Bolton and Haylie Lund scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Rifanburg reached 1,000 varsity points in the loss.

CV-S will face Schenevus in next Saturday's league final.

Worcester 37, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 30

The Worcester girls held off Gilbertsville-Mount Upton for a 37-30 win at home Wednesday in the Tri-Valley League playoffs.

Hailey Shalor was the top scorer for the Wolverines with 11 points while Angel Mravlja followed close behind with nine points.

Andrea Favinger led G-MU with 12 points in the loss.

Worcester (13-6 overall, 5-4 league) will face Laurens/Milford next Wednesday in another playoff matchup.

Laurens/Milford 52, Sharon Springs 17

Laurens/Milford made 11 three-pointers in a 52-17 win over Sharon Springs in Wednesday's Tri-Valley League playoff game.

Kyrah Andrades finished with 15 points and seven steals in the win while Delaney Maison had 13 points and Kara Mertz scored eight.

Lilly Tessier was the top scorer for Sharon Springs with 10 points.

Laurens/Milford (11-8) will face Worcester next Wednesday.

Sidney defeated Delhi 63-47 on the road Wednesday in Midstate Athletic Conference play.

Ava Cirigliano had 16 points while Nayla Miley and Maya Paul had 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the win.

Natalie Vredenburgh led all scorers with 29 points while Tyler Abts added 10 in the loss.

Sidney will visit Deposit-Hancock Thursday.
