‘Saturday Night Live’ has fun with ‘NFL on FOX’ in cold open

Another season opened for “Saturday Night Live” and the troupe took the opportunity to blend the “NFL on Fox” with George Santos in its cold open.

The panel was represented by actors playing Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson, Michael Strahan, Curt Menefee, and Terry Bradshaw.

On the West Coast, the show started after the NFL game on FOX between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles had just concluded.

So NBC took the opportunity to deliver a clever — and timely — start to the show.
