New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley hasn't even signed his rookie contract, but he knows what he's going to do with his first paycheck. Invest it. The No. 2 pick in the draft plans to follow in the footsteps of another star running back and not touch his NFL earnings, Barkley said at a charity softball game Thursday night. "You know what? Kind of want to follow the Marshawn Lynch method. I don't want to touch that," Barkley says of his mindset even before he was drafted. Lynch is widely credited with not spending any of the money he's made on the field during his career (a claim he actually denied later, though he's still known to be frugal). Like Lynch, Barkley intends to live off of endorsement money while saving for the future. His representatives at Roc Nation have signed him to deals with Nike and Panini American, among others, allowing Barkley to fulfill a childhood dream with his first big purchase -- a house for his mom. The former Penn State star figures to be an impact player right away for the Giants. He rushed for 1,271 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, hauling in 54 catches for 632 yards and three touchdowns along the way. He also contributed on kickoff returns, bringing back two touchdowns in 15 return chances. --Field Level Media
