Reyes' size and athleticism has caught Fitzpatrick's attention originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Ryan Fitzpatrick has plenty of new, exciting weapons to work with as he begins his tenure in Washington. Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas are all established names that can pair well with the veteran QB and command attention.

However, there is another offensive player in Washington who is intriguing to many. Sammis Reyes, signed in the offseason, has never played football. But, he has a 6-foot-5, 260-pound frame, can dunk a basketball and showed enough promise to earn a spot on the roster for now.

As Fitzpatrick surveys all his counterparts in the passing game, it's hard not to notice Reyes. The two haven't had much time together, but the quarterback does know one thing for sure: he's a big guy.

“Yeah, he’s certainly put together," Fitzpatrick said.

Fitzpatrick noted that Reyes reminds him of O.J. Howard, a tight end that he worked with during his time in Tampa Bay and someone that "was put on earth to play tight end in the NFL." Reyes, though "might even be bigger than him.”

Only time will tell if Reyes' physical stature translates into success at the highest level of football. He certainly has the size to succeed, but adjusting to the intricacies that come with the game will be a challenge.

Yet for however long he is out on the field with Washington and Fitzpatrick, eyes will be drawn to him. It makes sense, because he's pretty hard to miss.

“He’s definitely a guy, see him walking through the hallway that you take notice of because there aren’t a whole lot of human beings on earth that look like that.”
