It’s that time of year where EA Sports begins to hit us with Madden 23 news including player ratings for the upcoming game. And for those who want to use former UNC quarterback Sam Howell in the game, there’s some good and bad news.

Howell is ranked fifth among rookie quarterbacks with an overall rating of 67 in the game. That also puts him below a bunch more quarterbacks in the league as he sits behind Carson Wentz on the depth chart.

However, the Washington Commanders rookie has one of the strongest arms in the game.

Howell’s throw power is at 93 which is tied for 8th best in the game at the quarterback position:

He’s up there with Aaron Rodgers and Deshaun Watson with the 93 overall arm. Now, that’s pretty damn impressive for a rookie quarterback in the game as most of these players besides Malik Willis are all veterans in the league.
