A stadium without players doesn't have to stay empty.
While baseball is on hiatus amid the coronavirus pandemic, minor league team, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, are offering up an opportunity for fans who desire their own ballpark.
Volcanoes Stadium is now on Airbnb for $1,000/night for a one-of-a-kind youth retreat, company retreat, birthday celebration and yes, bachelor parties! Stay in the same clubhouse where major leaguers like Buster Posey, Tim Lincecum and Pablo Sandoval began their careers.
Take over the entire "Castle," which includes access to the clubhouse, 5,000 square feet of training space including four indoor batting cages, and exclusive use of the baseball field during your stay.
Take along your bat and blast a homer out of the Stadium-- full batting practice can be setup for your group. Pitching mounds and pitching machines are also available for baseball/softball use.
You might be asking yourself…where will we sleep? If you don't want to set up sleeping bags under the stars, the Volcanoes Stadium has a dozen cots so you and your squad can get the full sleepover effect.
Neighborhood restaurants like In-N-Out, Starbucks or McDonalds are nearby, but food and beverage packages at the Stadium can also be requested.
Based on the Airbnb listing, Volcanoes Stadium already has a handful of bookings and one review from Karen, who said "we had a great time at Volcanoes Stadium!" The listing is officially verified by Airbnb.
The quest to find your own Field of Dreams could be in Keizer, a destination spot to carouse in a professional baseball stadium and make your own memories in the same place the Volcanoes secured seven Division Championships and five Northwest League Titles.
