Liverpool maintained their unbeaten record at the top of the Premier League with a deserved win over Tottenham at Anfield.
A penalty from Mo Salah put them ahead after Jordan Henderson cancelled out Harry Kane's early opener to return their lead at the summit at six points.
Kane had stunned the Anfield crowd with an alert headed finish inside the first minute of the match after the ball came back off the post.
As Liverpool pressed, Tottenham keeper Paulo Gazzaniga made a succession of brilliant saves to keep his side in front at halftime.
Early into the second half, however, Henderson finally found a way past the excellent Gazzaniga with a well-taken volley. Salah sealed the victory from the penalty spot after Sadio Mane had been brought down by Serge Aurier in the box.
Son almost put Spurs ahead with an angled shot against the crossbar early in the second half but it was one-way traffic and Liverpool's pressure eventually told as Henderson fired home soon after -- his first league goal at Anfield since December 2015.
Tottenham are without a Premier League win on the road since January and have slumped to 11th, eight points behind the Champions League places.
