Sacramento police search for suspect in deadly hit-and-run
A man died early Sunday morning after being hit by a car in the area of Power Inn Road and Butte Avenue, authorities said. Investigators are now searching for the driver who left the scene following the collision. Officers responded to the scene shortly after 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, the Sacramento Police Department said. The pedestrian was found with serious injuries. Officers attempted to save his life, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The Sacramento County coroner's office will release the identity of the victim once the next of kin has been notified. The driver drove off after the collision, police said.
