Call him Ryan 'Bruce' Reynolds: Ottawa Public Health's 'social media intern' is a national treasure
There's been a lot said lately about our dear social media intern, Bruce. And now, Bruce would like to say a few words...#SteadyAsSheGoes #BruceReynolds pic.twitter.com/VCObMQWNq2

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has something to admit: He is the "Bruce" who forgot to include the winning team in an Ottawa Public Health tweet about the Super Bowl.
"There's been a lot said lately about our dear social media intern, Bruce. And now, Bruce would like to say a few words," the caption from Friday's tweet from the local public health reads, introducing a video from their "social media intern."
The star from Deadpool and "that episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch" revealed he occasionally tweets from Ottawa Public Health because "everybody does."
"Look about the Super Bowl, in my defence these days I'm just, I'm so busy OK? So just back off," Reynolds says in his video message.
WHAT AN AMAZING #SuperBowlLV!! Congratulations to the (*Bruce, make sure to put the winning team's name here)
Thanks to everyone who stayed home & watched the game w/members of their household. We know this wasn't the usual way to enjoy the game, & we thank you for your efforts. pic.twitter.com/gKD53I2bB9— Ottawa Public Health (@OttawaHealth) February 8, 2021
The tweet he is referring to reads "Bruce, make sure to put the winning team's name here" and the image said "insert winning team logo here" when it was posted on Feb. 7. The public health unit then used the tweet as a starting point to post a thread about spotting misinformation.
The video ends with several pop-up text reminders for everyone to wash their hands, wear a mask, stay home, get tested and get a COVID-19 vaccine.
Canadians were quick to respond to the video post by Ottawa Public Health.
I don't usually fan-girl over actors, but I think if Ryan Reynolds told me to stand naked in a snowdrift for 10 minutes a day, I'd probably do it. The guy is persuasive is all I'm saying.

This is 🥇! I’m following from NB partly because I’m from Ottawa, but mostly because your content is amazing. Wish all public health content was this witty during these difficult times! Keep up the amazing work. Stay Safe Ottawa. Sending ❤️ to my hometown
