In today’s NFL world, the Chicago Bears are one of the laughing stocks. Although they have a rich history and have the most players inducted into the Hall of Fame, the Bears are in their worst stretch.

The fact that they drafted Mitchell Trubisky by trading up and giving away many picks didn’t help the cause of trying to create a championship caliber team in the eyes of many fans. But, there is a large upside for this Bears team. One thing that people don’t realize is that the Bears team are taking the path that the Chicago Cubs took a couple years back.

Drafting Trubisky allows them to have a young quarterback with high upside. The more assuring route in the draft would have been taking Jamal Adams in the first round and Deshone Kizer in the second round, but that leaves question marks at the quarterback position. Kizer would take a long time to develop and the Bears wouldn’t want doubt at the most important position.

The Bears not only have a young quarterback, but also have other pieces for a championship team in the future. Cameron Meredith is a solid wide receiver number one, but if Kevin White develops to be the number one of the future, Cameron Meredith wouldn’t be a bad option at number two. Adam Shaheen looks like a beast of a human being with physical attributes like Gronk, and Jordan Howard proved that he is capable of being a great starting running back in the NFL. The offensive side for the Bears has a very large upside, and none of the players have hit their primes yet.

The chemistry between the young stars that the Bears have is essential for them to succeed in the future. Looking at the scores from last year, many of the games were close, but the Bears couldn’t finish. Games against playoff teams were really close and it is only a matter of time until the Bears can actually close out games.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bears have the one of the best linebacking corps in the NFL. Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman lead the group, but there are two youngsters who showed that they had game last year: Leonard Floyd and Nick Kwiatkoski. These two can develop to become part of a vicious linebacking corp and reek havoc for opposing quarterbacks.

The defensive line includes youngsters Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman. They provide two guys who are capable of being big playmakers on the defensive side of the ball. There is a defensive end in waiting in Jonathan Bullard, last year’s draft selection from the University of Florida. Putting him in a lineup with the other two defensive linemen would give problems to opposing lines because of their versatility.

The secondary seems to be the worst group for Chicago, but they are playing it smart in this part as well. The Bears brought in veterans such as Prince Amukamara and Quentin Demps. These established players can pave the way for youngsters such as Deiondre’ Hall, Cre’von Leblanc, Bryce Callahan, Deon Bush, and Kyle Fuller.

Although it may seem that the Chicago Bears are a hopeless NFL team right now, in the near future, expect them to be at the top of the NFC North and possibly the football world. Their young roster full of people who want to prove themselves gives them an advantage. The chemistry between all of them is key in order to be successful.
