Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite NFL city is Buffalo… ‘Because it’s Buffalo’

Ryan Fitzpatrick is a smart guy. You might have heard, he went to college at Harvard.

Recognizing what his current job is… the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, Fitzpatrick made an admission on The Adam Schefter Podcast this week. The ESPN NFL insider asked the QB what his favorite NFL city is, as the QB joined the show.

Fitzpatrick, who’s played for eight teams in his career, didn’t jump right out and say his answer.

“I mean, I can’t like… I’m going to get in trouble if I answer that one,” Fitzpatrick said.

But eventually he did.

Schefter, mentioning how he likes the cities of Denver and Chicago, was trying to soften the blow by saying how nice those places were to live in for him. But when Fitzpatrick revealed his answer to be Buffalo, referencing his time he spent with the Bills, he knew it wouldn’t be well received because the Bills are AFC East rivals of his now.

But… so much for that, because the 37-year-old signal caller, who played for the Bills from 2009-12, said Buffalo is his No. 1.

“Well yeah… that doesn’t make it any easier,” Fitzpatrick said of Schefter’s choices. “Cause my favorite NFL city? It’s Buffalo.”

While understandable hesitant, Fitzpatrick more than made up for it. Elaborating as to why his choice is the home of the Bills?

The answer is in the question.

“It’s Buffalo. That’s why, because it’s Buffalo,” Fitzpatrick said.

Long a stern supporter of the Bills and Western New York even since he departed, Fitzpatrick had made such statements on the record many times. Just because he’s with the Dolphins now for business, clearly won’t sway his thoughts on his former home.

In addition tot he Bills and Dolphins, Fitzpatrick has also played for the Jets, but has yet to finish off the entire AFC East tour to this point, having not yet suited up for the Patriots.

In terms of non-AFC East teams Fitzpatrick has played for, there’s the Bucs, Texans, Titans, Bengals and Rams.
